At one Caribbean airport recently, after I handed in my suitcase to be X-rayed, I realised I had packed my uniform hat in it. I asked the staff in the office If I could get it back. I was directed straight out onto the ramp (no security) and invited to go to my already X-rayed back, open it, take my hat out and close it again. I did all this and the bag was then loaded onto the plane.. .Total joke.
