Don't think I ever experienced a guria in Madang but by christ I did in Rabaul...including several rippas while inside the Hakai Maru at around 160'...the deck above creaking and groaning, huge sheets of loose metal covered in overgrown wires and coral swinging back and forth
...yes we swam clear rather sharpish...and got about 4 more while doing deco stops at 40'/30'/20' and 10' over the next 45+ minutes.
That evening we got a shedload more...almost constant shaking by midnight...when we got sent home to sober up by our esteemed boss...and of course the next morning we were front and center for the big ash flinging display...
