A good friend of mine is flying for an airline in Singapore, while maintaining a household in SA. Every month having to transfer money home to his SA account costs him a fortune in fees and bad forex rates, as we all know that banks feel they have the right to rip off people on all forex transactions - and on bankcharges for that matter!
Another mutual friend is involved in a private forex business and is saving mate #1 hundreds of Rands a month now. As I have many friends and acquaintances working abroad, and having a bit of a pet hate for banks (been ripped off big time myself
), I would like to share this with other South Africans abroad. People in aviation and any other profession, earning forex overseas and having to send money home.
