She is newly promoted on her first command as Capt. of a 737-300, (don't know if anyone else female is on the 767 - don't think so)

If one wants to be cynical, note that she is the chief pilots daughter......

As for the all female crew that day, note that there was a cockpit crew of 3, the 3rd member was actually a male "flight engineer" (since when did a 737 need a flight engineer??) In fact he was some sort of "minder" (read- training capt) The flight was actually a publicity stunt for the airline (good) and the chief pilots daughter (not so good)

Realistically she would not be rostered that way, hence the minder.....
