There is always the seniority issue. Nobody wants to be bypassed for promotion etc.
I fully understand companies that prefer to employ nationals for national airlines, although employing expats on a time-limited basis to ensure expansion etc might make sense without causing discontentment among the national pilots.
It is important that the expats are not working against the interests of the local pilots who might be experiencing poor industrial relations with management for whatever reason.
Will there be enough expansion to motivate MAS employing expats in the future? If so what are the views among MAS pilots?
