I'm not familiar with Europe - can anyone tell me why people there need to record the time of departure etc?

As far as landings go, I dont waste a columnn on that as I dont see the need to keep a cumulative total of them. I record landings in the General Remarks space, and its pretty easy to see whether or not you meet the 3 in 90 limit or not.

A column for tailwheel, one for turbine, one for floats, one for instructing, one for flights with puppies on board, one for rotary wing, use the other columns however you want. Remember too that if you use one column for, say, floats, and then in a while you stop flying floats but need a new column for meatbombing say, you can always retitle columns. Just keep track of them.

Good luck;
