Virgin: Standby to HKG- Any Chance At All?

Hi,

Not sure whether this is an appropriate forum, but considering that some of you must be Virgin staff with standby experience I was wondering whether you could kindly help me?

I may have to attempt a standby flight from LHR-HKG this Friday, returning on the Sunday at the request of my missus (she works for another airline). The ticket is an I90 and as such I would be right at the very bottom of any waitlist.

Is my only chance to get on these flights if Hell freezes over? On previous BA flights to HKG they have all always been packed, so i presume its a similar case with Virgin especially as they're Friday/Sunday flights? Fare availability is showing all 7s, but from what I understand its hard to derive anything meaningful from that.

Thanks for any information!
