It's an eye opener when questions such as what teropa asks are posed by individuals who perhaps have never physically entered a Boeing flightdeck (OK teropa perhaps not you - but you get my gist I hope).

A Captain I fly occasionally with is a former 737 IP with a major West Canadian Outfit... he mentioned a program by the name of PS1... and stated quite confidently that he believed somebody au fait with the Software could probably get an EFIS Boeing on the ground in one piece from altitude...

Flight Sims have come a hell of a long way. Lets face it. Flying a Boeing/Airbus etc is no longer a complete mystery to anybody who can fork out a couple of hundred bucks to buy some software and original manuals from ebay. No flames here please - no I'm not saying that they could competently replace a crew member - just that the odds are in their favour in bringing the a/c down in one piece.

Whether this is a good or bad thing I'd be hesistant to judge.
