Yeh chimbu, as a matter of fact I do wanna bet.
DM, what is the more prohibitive cost, endorsing 80 odd pilots ( most of which would be done in line flying, apart from sim ) or biulding a multi million dollar maintenance facility in Perth, or ferrying A/c to the east coast every time they need more than a windscreen wash or tyre change. ( not having a go, an honest question )
Also, how do jetstar expand into 20 A320s over the next couple of years without hiccups from having to set another operation on the other side of the country?
NJS have everything in place, it is essentially just a type change.
Having said all that of course, practicality and/or logic will probably have no part in the decision.
we will only have to ponder and pontificate for another 2-3 weeks max., I would say.
