Hi Im new to all this but have flown about 2000 hrs so feel I am qualified to say something here.

All have some good points but are missing the most important thing you can ever lurn from a flying instructor. Actually it is more something you are born with than can lurn. DF. or otherwise known as Dog ****. It is simply logic, That is all you need to fly an aircraft safely. Safety is the thing. The most important thing.

And sorry but my feelings are quite strong here, if all those of you who clean up the aircraft on the runway ever roll of the side of the runway or lift the gear unintentionally, I will laugh in your faces. You deserve the accident ! Dont come crying for sympathy here ! I read about someone who lifted the gear on rollout and laughed untill he mentioned further on in the article that he had 7 000 Hrs. Shock hay. Can happen to anyone. Why the hurry ? Use some DF here and wait till you are off the runway and have time to clean up properly and completely ! Havent read of anyone who stopped, thought about the cleanup and then retracted the gear ! Normally squatswitches then work and prevent you anyway !

Anyway keep it safe and always apply DF
