Squealing pig, as I'm sure you spotted, picking your point to turn by looking ahead 45 deg when abeam the threshold means you turn base at the same point as turning when the threshold is 45 deg behind- I think the studes find it easier to assess angles in front, and more importantly I like to get them used to planning ahead as early as possible.
