Thanks for the points of view guys i,m going to an instructor refresher seminar soon and the subject is on the program, that should make for an interesting chat !
My own view is that the legal department of the CAA is at the root of this stupidity (its not the first time they have got in the way of good practice, just look at the crankshaft inspection debacal)so letts not give the opps side of the CAA a hard time just yet.
I think the best thing to do is to get AOPA , BALPA and who ever else is interested to pressure the CAA to get this thing fixed if that dont work then write to your MP, that usualy makes the CAA management do something as it starts to threaten the index linked pension.
