It took our HT (Multi) and HT (FIC) a lot of time and effort to get the approval - although it helped that we have a CAA staff member as one of them (but that didn't mean any special treatment, I can assure you!) Plus the aircraft have to be inspected, your Ops manual (Flying Order Book) has to be approved, etc, etc. And there are fees to pay. We also have to have a 'Quality Assurance' system in place.........a lot of hassle indeed to do a few MEP Class Rating and SE/ME FIC courses at a Club with restricted membership eligibility!!
