Ear infections

ears are something youve really gotta look after if youre thinking of flying or are a trained pilot- i found out i have dodgy ears and failed my class 1 medical, so long hopes of being a pilot! had an infection i didnt know about which weakened my ears, ended up bursting an ear drum while scuba diving. that caused problems with my eustation tubes and cant equalise easily, if there was a major loss of cabin pressure theres a chance i could burst an eardrum and not be able to fly the plane at all. so mid your ears, its better to be safe than sorry so dont go rushing back to the job if you can afford it and definitely hang up the mask and fins if youre gonna be a pilot.
