First off, opinions vary whether the six seconds (some manuals apparently say 5 seconds) is a Minimum or a Maximum.
Ah, that's interesting. I'd always assumed it was a MAXIMUM of 6 seconds. OK, with another R22 I sometimes fly, the rotors start almost immediately when you start the engine! Again, I've been told it's not a problem. But of course, QHIs and examiners aren't engineers, and having strong opinions doesn't necessarily make you right!!! So I do worry, as I said.
