Under British Civil Air Regulations, there
is a weight penality with a thrust reverser (any one reverser, not just number two) unserviceable, on the Lockheed three-holer.
This includes dry runways, if I recall correctly.
Mutt has indicated correctly otherwise...ie: FAA (and others).
Had a discussion about this very subject with a real wiseguy co-pilot some years ago, and I
told him to look it up in the big book that was always carried onboard...the one that said 'Lockheed California Company, L1011 Aircraft Flight Manual', on the cover.
He was a wiseguy no more.
