Thomsonfly.com announces third base

Thomsonfly.com has today announced that Bournemouth Airport will become its third base with flights commencing in March 2005.

Two B737s will operate flights to a range of European beach, leisure and city destinations. The route network and schedule will be released in early December.

Chief Commercial Officer for Thomsonfly.com, Alex Hunter, said: “Bournemouth is one of the fastest growing towns in Europe making it a great choice for a new base. The number of low cost routes is very limited from Bournemouth so our flights will open this up dramatically. People want to be able to choose from a range of leisure destinations at low fares without having to travel to a London airport. The routes will also provide a new gateway to the UK for overseas travellers, providing an extra boost for the local economy.”

Bournemouth Airport is part of the Manchester Airports Group who also own, Manchester Airport, Nottingham East Midlands Airport and Humberside Airport.
