It should be noted that ADSB has been trialled in Alaska for some years now as part of the Capstone project (see
www.alaska.faa.gov/capstone/). They have been incorporating it into the ATC system since the late 90's, and actually used it on December 31 2000 to provide the first ever radar vectoring in the Bethel region. Not sure of the latest details though.
The GA community was provided with free cockpit MFDs so it can be used to aid in "see and avoid", but obviously only with respect to other ADSB equipped aircraft.
I'm not sure where AA are at in their trial, but from what I have read it doesn't appear they are as far advanced. Please fell free to provide more information.
