Hi Flyingchick, an instructor rating will lift the standard of your theoretical knowledge and understanding ,flying ability and accuracy and should instil a more proffessional attitude all of which you can then pass on to your students, however i would never recommend doing the I/R unless you intend to use it to actually instruct unless you're bloated with cash which we never are .
