Rather than spending all the cash on the full course and hoping for a job, I would say you have a much better chance if you did the basic CPL and then instructed for a while before the I/R. At least while you wait you can keep earning and keep current. It is up to you ultimately and I would wait to see if you hear from anyone with 250hrs and their experiences in the jobhunt. The other option is to go for one of the ab-initio sponsorships available which cost almost the same as self sponsored but you get ajob at the end guaranteed.
