speech this is a good link to get an idea. Khao San road is also worth a visit if you enjoy the 'back to the sixties' feel. Curious mix of cultures and people there, and dirt cheap internet access for when you miss PPRuNe.
Last time I was there we took this Ayutthaya cruise. Another memorable experience.
BKK has enough to do for 3 lifetimes, enjoy.
