You might be too young to remember the C-130 that was nicked from Mildenhall by a pissed-off ground crew guy and flown out to Land's End where it crashed in the sea. A large lump of metal flying towards you is a large lump of metal flying towards you even if it is full of bombs rather than box-cutters.
