Neither pilot or engineer can "deface" a Tech Log unless he has just made an error in his/her entry. (as dehavillanddriver says)
A pilot cannot declare an aircraft servicable when an engineer has declared it otherwise.
However he can, as the aircraft commander, refuse the aircraft for service on what he believes to be safety grounds...... even if the engineer says it is safe.
Having said that....I think lame1 is having a
