Just let me add to the fire. It is highly important to use a checklist-regardless if it is a one "idiot" cockpit or a multi "idiot" cockpit. Because one shall not forget the the we humans make errors. A pre take-off/pre landing checklist is applicable to whatever aircraft you fly. If one follows these checks you assure yourself not having missed a possibly unexplicable low rotor rpm, exceeding temp scales and the like. Bottomline, it might save your royal behind some day.
