An instructor not being paid to supervise solo flights? That flying club has a cheek.
All the flying clubs I know of pay the instructor for the supervision they do. At the end of the day the instructor's licence is being 'used' by the student. He has to be on site, or in the ATZ if anything goes wrong. And it's our butt that gets kidded if all hell breaks loose.
Honest Frank please have some respect for our highly under paid and deserved profession.
