Many thanks, aeulad.

On the theme of more routes from BRS, a report appeared in today's Bristol Evening Post that quoted the airport's aviation development director, Tony Hallwood.

He said that at next week's Routes Development Forum in Madrid the airport would be pitching for routes to Leeds-Bradford, Milan, Dusseldorf, Cologne and Hamburg. He believes there are strong business cases for these routes and he is confident of returning from the conference with 'positive news'.

LBA has been tried a number of times but, for various reasons, has never been sustained. One would think there would be enough business pax for twice a day turbo prop rotations with some tourist potential at both ends as well. I'm surprised that Air Wales has never tried this route, possibly from CWL via BRS. Or Air South West might consider it from PLH via BRS , but presumably they will need more aircraft in their fleet before they can expand their route network.

Milan has often been mentioned and there was a rumour last year that BACx would try it. Not sure about the German cities although the loads of BACX to FRA and MUC have increased significantly in recent months, and easyJet's new (since the end of May) SXF service is showing encouraging growth with average daily loads of 120-plus in August (CAA stats).

Yes, I know that loads are only one part of the equation but they at least show there is a market.
