I haven't had a problem with the controllers out at PF. Certainly there is a wide range of ATC capability out there.
Dick is training out at YPAD now, and as for "flash" being a pro..
I've found him to be abrupt, very rude and unhelpful. The girl you have mention has also left, however the new boss of ATC out there is a female from the Eastern states and seems to be adapting to PF reasonably quickly.
Controllers like John and Rod seem to be more orientated to general aviation operations and I also haven't had a problem with them.
When the ATC out there see pilots making the same mistake over and over again, I can understand how they would become frustrated. Thank God the ATC's at PF don't make as many mistakes as the pilots!
Maybe you just caught one on a bad day??
