Tellytubby land is a good Nav point. Yes there really is a telly tubby land somewhere. Sadly I have lost the grid for it and I cannot for the life of me remember where it is other than somewhere between Gloucester and Stratford. Someone here will know though!
In the good old cold war days the Hawk SAM sites were not to be map marked and therefore could not be avoids. Once flying with a new Wg Cdr, I mentioned a site within 1nm of track. He wazzed it like no-one else dare, and that was top fun. Initials MT should he frequent these parts, or anybody else know of him. He is sufficiently far up the chain not to give a poo nowadays.
Ten feet over the Mohne between the towers having just decended in from Soest via the route once taken by our forfathers was very memorable. Made me appreciate what a ball ache of a task is was all those years ago for the time spent on the bomb run in level flight was only a few seconds.
