The Agusta A.109A Hirundo performs the role of attack helicopter for the Argentinian Army in the Escuadrón de Aviación de Exploración y Ataque 602 .
Three Agusta A.109As were sent to the Falklands/Malvinas.
On May 23, 1982 AE-337 was destroyed near Shag Cove by 30 mm gunfire from a couple of Sea Harriers piloted by Cpt. Morgan and Cpt. Leeming of 800 Squadron.
When the Argentinian surrender came, the remaining two were captured intact.
Two (AE-331 & AE-334) were transferred to the UK where they are now ZE411 & ZE410 and serve the SAS.
