I am currently running Windows XP Home with IE 6, and had problems with pop ups.
Just down loaded the new (free) SP 2 from Microsoft, and it includes a really great pop up blocker.
It also blocks all pictures in emails, unless you want them.
It also includes a firewall and anti virus, but I already had these.
Just be careful it is a VERY big download, NOT recommended for dial up connections.
