You bet there are!!
Still about 60 or so. All B747 types except the -400 have engineers. Generally, they are a great resource and a great source of information. Give me a "ginger beer" over an EICAS any day.
Latest word on the Classic is that it'll be there till 2011-2013. With many F/Es close to retirement - some desperately hanging on for a package - it's likely that there will be some recruitment for F/Es.
May be time for RAAF engineers to start a mail in!!
Incidentally DJ Dave, early model 767s did have an engineer. Ansett had them initially until they realised they were doing bugger all and getting paid s%^tloads to do it!!
