Get used to this sort of jibber jabber Splannie - unfortunately and whether you like it or not there will be people who sledge you as a chick pilot. Thats just the nature of the beast we call aviation.
This industry attracts the some of the biggest characters (read know-alls and tossers) around. Also a few (very few) of some the most honourable and likeable people you could ever meet.
Sure you have an advantage as a woman - take it as read. Its a matter of whether you are graceful about your advantage.
My advice - Just show a little respect and be mindful of those who will spend much more time to get where you hopefully get going.
