My advice is go for it. nothing can compare with the thrill of flying especially when your instructor hops out of the a/c for the first time and you realise its up to YOU to get it up and down again safely. You only get one one shot at life so I believe that spending it sitting up the front of an a/c is a lot better than spending it sitting in a office at some law firm (pay notwithstanding!)
If your goal is the airlines have you looked at the possibility of a cadetship? Your a uni degree in law/science you would stand a better chance than most at getting in the advantage being a job at the end after a couple a years with a regional.
