The theory is that an organisation that wants you to pay up front is desperate for cash and
vastly more likely to go bust than one which is happy for you to pay on landing because their business is in good shape.
Having read
many stories of flying schools going bust over the years and losing their students' up front money I would also advise never to pay in advance.
