Poor reporting I'm afraid. The incident happened on the apron.Service vehicles are not allowed anywhere near the Runways at BFS unless they are escorted by a vehicle driven by a qualified person with an airfield driving permit and R/T competence.
Sadly this type of incident is not uncommon and happens at airports all over the world.
There is a thread in Spotters Corner about a lorry and a Malev B737 which makes interesting reading.
If found culpable, the vehicle driver involved will usually end up looking for another job!
A sobering thought to rampers

Not sure about the damage but last night just the usual six Easyjet night stoppers, not seven.

One final thought to apron drivers (apologies if I am teaching my Granny to suck eggs) ATC are not responsible for separating aircraft from vehicles on the apron.
