In over 30 years of passenger flying I have to say that I have always found the pressurisation system on the 146 to be the most uncomfortable that I have experienced.
I flew from the UK to Hannover about two years ago in a 146 and was unable to fly for two days afterwards due to the pain in my ears, and no.......I didn't have a cold.
