Sorry, forgot to mention, the only RELIABLE way to confirm whether a patch would suffice infolves Flinite element analysis using a programme such as Nastran or ABAQUS, with the appropriate pre-post processor software. And an experienced operator. It may be the case that Airbus or Boeing could do the investigation for you as all the definitions for the damaged parts of the aircraft will already be on file... Problem with MMF and G/CRP is you just cannot tell what impact a hole will have on the structural integrity; its not a simple case of determining the stres distribution due to the nature in which CRP distributes the load.
