What do you mean by "do other airlines hire foreign pilots"...

Are you an EU citizen and hold a JAA licence? If not I seriously doubt they would since there are a number of qualified pilots... if so then,

Iberia - speak Spanish and rated on the A/C they fly, fATPL JAA

Air France - speak French, hold a French issued JAA licence - not sure about the ins and outs but there are some problems that arise when trying to change your licence to a French one.

Alitalia - seems to be some hiring going on req: 1000hrs, fATPL, line experience and I'd assume a knowledge of Italian.

Lufthansa - speak German - a lot of pilots on Furlough.
