Once chased a very big - and athletic - rabbit quite some distance up a runway. The race lasted a good part of a mile.
He was minding his business out ahead of us in the middle of the broad asphalt strip as we flared. Silly creature decided to out-run the aircraft the hard way, sprinting right up the centerline.
It was touch and go (har har) for a bit, but then he pulled smartly ahead of the nosewheel & made for the horizon.
Was likely the most interesting thing that happened in that desert place in a long while. Probably he was telling the same story, from a bunny pov, to his great great great grandchildren.
