I was just wondering how many people have experience of flying into Goodwood on a race/event day. Having never flown in into Goodwood at all I was wondering what the facilities are likely to be like on a busy day?
Yesterday was the first day of the festival of speed, and the aerdrome was busy, but not totally packed out (the FISOs were getting a good work-out, but the volume of RT seemed no worse than Shoreham on a sunny weekend). The circuit looked a bit interesting, with lots of helicopters arriving and, when I got there, a mixture of light twins, a Hurricane and a flexwing microlight arriving in the fixed-wing circuit, but it's not beyond the average PPL. The organization on the ground seemed to be very efficient, and I think lifts were available over to the house for the FoS.

On a quiet day, Goodwood is very quiet. It would be an easy trial run for anybody who hasn't been there before, but it's not a demanding airfield to fly to even when busy.
