"European Governments don't give their citizens what they want? Well bad our Polis are we dont have ones that have their brothers rig the election and have IQs in double digits. We also don't consign our poor and racial minorites to quite the degree of desperation and depravity that exists in the land of the free. We also have intersting concepts like trains and social responsibility."
What a stupid and totally irrelevant statement, especially in light of the context of the article. The politics and racial policies of a country (and let's face it, some European countries have a piss poor record in these areas too) mean nothing in the context of the supposed consignment of the 'Queen of the skies' to the boneyard.
I too agree that there are some innaccuracies or incorrect assumptions made by the author of the article. Just because few are now being sold, doesn't mean the 'seven four' won't be flying for another two decades at least. And I think Boeing has finally clicked to the fact the design does have a future and has recently talked of reviving the 747X concept. '747FOCAL' might be able to assist us on that.
