At least you have somewhere you can go to buy something to eat or drink. I work in the local hospital. We get 30 mins break in an eight hours long shift. The canteen is ten minutes (at least) walk away and therefore ten minutes back again.

This leaves us with ten minutes to queue, select our meal, eat it then return.

It can't be done so we all bring in our own food. We have a microwave in the coffee room as a concession - they aren't allowed anywhere else in the hospital, but the distance to the canteen is very inconvenient if you happen, for whatever reason, to have no food with you.

On a brighter note, tea costs 20p per WEEK and coffee 50p per week, but then we do make it ourselves and so far nobody has got food poisoning.
