Yes, fatigue surely does cause poor decisions.
But pilots, generally being the superior folks that we are
, generally make up for this by engaging the automatics, or at least request the best approach, under the circumstances.
At least that surely
is what they are paid the rather big bucks for...
And,
if not, maybe the beancounters are right after all.
