Not taking a shot, Nightowl, but since when have we been obliged to tip cabbies (or any other service provider) in Australia?
I know it's certainly not normal practice in NSW, particularly when the average Sydney cabbie is smelly, untidy, doesn't speak English, usually smokes in the cab and has to be given directions to your destination.
