Well, with approximately 14 days off on this roster I can prepare myself for those long back of the clock sectors! Then again, I don't think I can ever get used to those RED EYES! Doing an east coast sector after a redeye does get you feeling a little tired, but with our controlled rest facility available I find that my body tends to get through it okay with the 30 min sleeps. The only reason I can think of why we do MEL overnights is that our rostered tour of duty runs out on some of the pairings that have sectors down in that part of Australia and they can't get us back to BNE. The BNE-HBA-BNE pairing I have never done, I would say that it might be done with a MEL crew eg. MEL-BNE-HBA-BNE-SYD?? Hope that information helps. All in all it is a great company to work for and I, for the first time in my career, am not looking for another job elsewhere!!
