In my experience the more you give it to an engine the longer she lasts. for example, in a flying school the engines get hammered all day and always seem to make tbo with good compressions wheras some charter operators that I have worked at which baby there engines seldom made 1000 hrs before cyl o/h.
Obviously a turbo chieftan would suffer probs if it was treated the same way as a trainer day in day out but full power t/offs would be the way to go, look after your turbo( cars have a timer for a reason) and my bigest gripe was the speed in which the throttle was shoved fwd, nice and slow, no prize for going 1000rpm to 2700 rpm in .25 sec, know what I mean.
