Cathay uses a strict and authoritarian grading system for
every simulator and line event - be it crew- up, so- called training or regular check flights to keep the pressure up. Communication is essential before events. When it comes to fleet changes and upgrades, they may use all past reports against you.
You are expected to be highly 'professional'. On the other hand you have to cope with loads of mismanagement, admin chaos and failures caused by The Company.
There is no real crew resource management in Cathay.
You may feel comfortable if you have a military background, know some managers there or if you favour hierarchical systems.
