Even the modern composite structures still use metallic fasteners, metallic bearings or metallic fittings, so there is the big problem of galvanic corrosion.
To prevent this, either appropriate metals are selected (as titanium or inconel) or a non conductive composite layer (normally glass) is added in the contact area. This is a lot of work for design and production.
