Finnair MD-11 landed on a wrong rwy in Miami
Incidents happen out there, but they arenīt always shared with other aviatiors/public. Last february one of Finnairs MD-11 landed on a wrong rwy in Miami International.
According to one of the finnish newspaper the crew experienced an equipment malfunction during the approach to rwy 27R. Due to that unknown distraction the crew accidentally landed on rwy 26R. (If you look at the airport diagram, it could easily happen if nobody is paying any attention to the flightpath)
The captain realised this over the threshold, but desided to continue, because he estimated that this was safer to do at that point.
