The problem for airlines such as Qantas and Air Nz is that emirates has capital coming out its ears and being an airline owned by an oil rich country the airline would get its fuel at a heavily discounted rate. We have no ability to compete against this without some form of governmental understanding of the situation. The governments have proven they don't understand by knocking back the aliance plans. Boys and girls in the not too distant future we are all going to be fighting very hard for our continued survival.
